| Someone with any hardware knowledge help please. Basically im running the game fine and suddenly the speed of a graphics card drops from 3d speeds to 2d speeds here are some screens. This happens in all games not just cod4. I tried reinstalling drivers, using old drivers, switching the 2 cards. When I try running both cards separately this does not happen, so im guessing its something with the SLi or one of the cards is bad. Im not overclocking at all, I actually have memory downclocked and one of the graphics cards downclocked from stock super-superclock speeds. Temperatures seem normal. Normal: - Quote :

| Are the graphics card exactly the same? If they are from different companies, then by all means, take one out and see how it works. If they are from the same company and are the same model, just do the same. See how one runs and see how the other does too. Also, in my experiences, it could be your internet connection lagging. When my connection lags on wireless, or even wired, my computer's performance lags with it. Now this may not be the same for you (my computer is (not) the shit). Also, try turning down the graphics as that could be interfering with performance as well.
I could be all wrong too. So don't think I'm completely correct. I am good with hardware, but not Godly.
Hope all the best for ya man. | |

| The brand of card should not make a difference . Did you buy your cards seperate? they had a short period where the chipsets where different for the 9800 gtx series The older version had the (G92) chipset. That would be the only way they werent compatible. If thats not the case. Do you have nvidia control panel?> there is a section in there that sets 2d or 3d see what that is set to. There is even a deeper section in there somewhere that sets by game maybe it has it set to 2d in there or auto . Or if you are using evga precision tool which looks like it from your screen shots check for updates for precision tool I dont think there is a 2d 3d program for that program? . If none of those are the issues roll back drivers like piggy said. I f not that check each card seperatly to see if you have a defective card. In my old comp I had 2 9600 gt sli (quadcore / xp/ 3 gigs) i was getting like 210 fps so you should be definitly maxing at 250 . OOps also had a 9800gtx + which was 250 i sold to a friend who also gets 250 fps also so there is something not right . and on your motherboard there is a chip on some that you have to flip to put it into sli mode like on the asus p5ne sli . Anywho my xfire is purekiller29 if ya have anymore question hit me up ill try to help ya out. And for my final words of wisdom STOOBS GAY AND HE LIKES IT. | |

| My harddrive just died on me and I think that may be the reason my game and drivers were crashing but im not sure. Anyways i have 2 9800 gtx +'s both from EVGA ones super-clocked and the other is super-super-clocked, but both are downclocked to stock speeds. My motherboard is an EVGA 750i FTW edition. | |

| Need to get the serial number off the cards and find out which chipset both are. And if your using the 780 are you using the Nvidia control panel ? or atleast have it downloaded? It could be set to change from 2d to 3d if you have it on auto . I know hd will crash comp etc.. im not so sure about 2d 3d app. Anywho it could be your hd but i would check each cards serial # to see which chipset they are just google the # it should tell ya . And i would also put each card in seperatly to see if ones defective . | |
