Modern Warfare 2

The next game made by Infinity Ward may be dropping the Call of Duty title and instead simply going by the name "Modern Warfare 2." Post your thoughts on the series's name here. The trailer for the game can be viewed here http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/

Not really interested in the game. I'll probably get it if I have extra money, but the only games I'm looking forward to are console games as of now.

From the crappy trailer we might assume a few things. There will be at least one airport map. They are probably going to do a lot of urban maps (no more Overgrown or Creek kind of stuff). One shouldn't get too excited about MW2. It will probably be just an updated version of COD4. If it has any truly revolutionary features, I'd be pleasantly surprised. Co-op came out with COD5, what else is there? It would be nice if it had a completely destructible environment, but other games have boasteed that feature. Imagine being able to use explosives to break through a wall, anywhere. That would make some extrememly dynamic gameplay. And it might give nade spammers an alternative.

lol meathead its a teaser, its not meant to give us gameplay just some effects and a release date. Besides, ITS FROM INFINITY WARD!!!! At worst this game will be superb, but knowing them, they will find a way to make the game very fresh and add lots of cool features as well as innovations. On the topic of features though it would be cool if they added a competitive mode like promod. Perhaps co op as well although im not a big fan of playing through single player with friends, lol!

i agree with meat the whole blasting through walls would be crazy as hell lol but i think the guns will be a little more realistic unlike cod4 where some guns that dont have recoil at all have a lot in real life. and i believe i saw an oil rig in there as well, so maybe a map on a oil rig in the middle of the ocean? and im guessing probably a motel map from the beginning. might be like the newest tom clancys game?

I hear some guns that aren't in the old one. I really wish they could (maybe they will) keep the old cod4 weapons and make it like an expansion with new guns and perks etc.

nope, most of the guns are getting replaced from what I've heard.

I can't wait for the SCAR to go into the game. That gun might be the one reason i get MW2. I know i'm a just like those movie fanboys, but i love that gun in every single game it's in.

Well as i understand, most weapons from cod4 will return with a few new ones, afterall, the weapons in cod4 are used all over the world. More British weapons are welcome such as the AWM or the L82.

either way your probably gonna have to buy a new video card and power supply if you have shit now rofl

* Vehicles will be in MW2
* M16 will return, using stopping power will only be OHK at head, neck, and torso (abdomen, limbs, and hands/feet will not)
* Ak47 and M4 will return, unknown if there are any changes
* M40 will return, ACOG damage boost will be fixed
* Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 will not return
* There are more unknown weapons that will not return
* New sniper rifle: SR25M (United states forces)
* New Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4 equivelant)
* New Assault rifle: L85A2 (United Kingdom forces)
* Total weapons in multiplayer are said to be around 35
* Favourite Modern warfare 1 maps will return
* Helicopters, air strikes, UAV will return
* Red dot sightings will come in different shapes for multiplayer (circular, square, original)
* Snipers will have special grass camouflage (As seen in Modern warfare 1's campaign)
* All perks will return from MW except eavesdrop and others will be altered
* All gametypes will return from MW and all will have hardcore versions
* New gametype: Secure (Call of duty version of capture the flag, however you capture the enemy's Intel)
* New gametype unconfirmed name, similar to search and destroy, however instead of trying to plant a bomb, you try to kill a specified enemy
* Solider customization for each class (and each country)
* Sniper with silencers will NOT be in multiplayer
* There are NO bots in local multiplayer
* Similar version to Nazi Zombies, however details are unknown
* NO guest players online, 1 player per console
* Killcam save feature
* There is blood and gore
* Offline/Online Co-op
* Story takes place in the Middle East
* Role as US marines return
* Ken Lally voice work in campaign
* Release is set for sometime in November
* New army tags will be available to add different elements in campaign (similar to halo skulls)
* Campaign-only weapons

Since there are 27 weapons in cod4, and 5 are definitely leaving(and more too apparently), and 3 are stated, that leaves us with at least 10 new guns that will be added that we don't know about.

G36c, on a serious note, i will miss greatly if that list is true. That gun is one of my favorite to use, with no attachments because it was challenging.

I think that's the notorious 'fake' list. That's been out for a few weeks and most people believe it's just sumone making guesses.
